Saving Bruce - Monday morning feeling?

Its the monday morning following one of the most manic weekends most of Bruce's supporters will have ever faced. Emails have been sent in their thousands, Ideas, Videos, Groups, Mailing lists, forums have all been frantic with efforts to Save Bruce. Most of us are, quite frankly, knackered!

But heres a thought that may give you a little smile and help you keep on going.

It IS Monday. Certain organisations, Mps etc will now be sitting down at their computers and finding that while they had a weekend off - WE DIDNT!!!!!

Now isnt that a pleasent thought?! Imagine the look on their faces as they find out how many emails they have. Its the little things that make us keep fighting isnt it?!

As the past few days have been so hectic I thought I would take a moment to run a "check list" so all Bruce's supporters can see at a glance all the updates that have happened over the weekend. Please do take a moment to email each and every one.

First a new video to try and gather more support has been created and can be found here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0aQLog460Io Please crosspost in the hopes even more people help save Bruce.

The USPCA have been added to our list of contacts. For templates and contacts see here: http://dangerousdogsact.blogspot.com/2009/07/saving-bruce-uspca-contact.html

We are also asking everyone to contact the major news groups. A template letter is avaliable here : http://dangerousdogsact.blogspot.com/2009/07/template-media-letter.html

And a list of contacts for world wide media can be found here: http://dangerousdogsact.blogspot.com/2009/07/worldwide-media-attention-saving-bruce.html

We are also asking everyone to contact the irish MLPs.
A list of contacts and a template letter can be found here: http://dangerousdogsact.blogspot.com/2009/07/saving-bruce-mlps-contact-list.html

We have asked supporters to beg Veterinary groups to refuse to destroy Bruce should they be asked and have templates and contacts details here: http://ddawatch.webs.com/savingbrucevetdraft.htm

Please also contact the ministers for Ireland and the uk who have the power to grant Bruce a pardon. Tmeplate and contacts details are here: http://ddawatch.webs.com/savingbrucetemplate1.htm

and finally (I think!!!) we have asked everyone to contact the RSPCA, Dogs trust, Kennel Club and Irish Kennel Club. Templates can be found here along with contact details ; http://ddawatch.webs.com/brucetemplategeneral.htm

Now just looking at all of that is pretty amazing - whats every more amazing is that good people from all over the WORLD are emailing every single one of them! Northern Ireland HAS to listen - the world is watching them and that is all thanks to YOU!!!!

  3. i think that it is riduclous the way people see bull breed types its not the dogs it the people that own them. i mean my dogs are a very big part of my life and i couldnt live without them. people need to judge the people not the breed. xx

  4. I wish you nothing but the very very best in this. I have posted Bruce's story and asked for support on my Staffies forum www.staffies.co.uk and also on my FaceBook homepage.
I HOPE it all helps. I HOPE Bruce is saved and I HOPE that he is returned to his family who clearly love him very very much.
In this day and age where we see horrific stories of animal abuse it is refreshing to see a family so devoted to their pet and so determined to do all they can to save him - even if that means he has to be rehomed to where he isn't considered evil or dangerous.
Sending you much love & best wishes from England

  5. i have just witnessed a horrific attack by one of these dogs on another dog and agree that the rules should be adhered to and these dogs destroyed with immediate effect. it was traumatising to watch. if it had been a child that was attacked he/she would be dead. as to the owner he couldnt care what happened. he just gave us loads of foul mouthed abuse for holding his dog away when we got it off the injured dog and for calling the local constabulary. we should have a web campaign to have all these dogs killed at birth and made illegal to own

  6. Im sorry for what you witnessed but your post raises a few points. Firstly I wonder what is "one of these dogs" that you refer to? If you mean "pit bull type" can I ask what experience you have in identifying such a dog?

What you have witnessed is exactly what we are all fighting to stop. Irresponsible owners being allowed to own any dog. Instead of trying to kill dogs that havent done anything wrong wouldnt it be better to stop the owners being able to own them in the first place?

  7. i will admit i have very little experience in these dogs but the police identified one as a staffie and one as an english bull terrier.

maybe this will leave me open to riducule from your fellow bloggers but i found it disturbing. my personal opinion would be if the dogs werent allowed to be kept as pets in the first place then irresponsible owners wouldnt be able to get their hands on them.

  8. Well both staffies and EBT are legal dogs and mosr often than not fantastic family pets. The staffie even earned the nick name the nanny dog due to their love of people.

The problem of irresponsible ownership is not breed specific. You will always have owners of any breed of dog that really shouldnt have any dog at all.

If you make any breed illegal those people who would own that breed will either ignore the law or move onto another breed. Nothing will change.

I personally would like to see a form of test come in that everyone who would like to own a dog must sit and pass (at their own expense) before they can own any dog.

I would also like to see harsher sentences for those owners who do not ensure the mental wellbeing of their dogs by properly socialising those dogs.

Theres many things that can be done but blaming the dog isnt going to solve anything.

  10. Excellent because all time we should have different ways to get our lives easier, that's the reason this article liked me a lot, by the way talking about happiness, I'm so happy when I take Viagra.
